I will push you to be curious about what is going on in your inner world because that’s the most constructive way to start making change in your life.

We all have the capacity for change, and you are no exception. You have to find that “thing” that is unique for you – whatever it is that will make you push yourself.

WHEN YOU DECIDE TO WORK WITH ME…
The first few sessions will be spent assessing your situation… getting a really clear map of where you want to go and how we can get you there.
To do this, I use lots of tools to help increase your self-awareness… of how you relate to others and your personality.
I will create a treatment plan that serves as the road map for your therapy experience from these assessments. I do this because I gravitate toward structure, and I want to make sure we’re meeting your therapeutic goals.

THERAPY’S ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO ALIGN YOUR THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS WITH YOUR BEHAVIORS.
So, I might assign you some “homework” between sessions to help you do that.
Sometimes, it’s simply something to think about. Sometimes, it is an activity that pushes you outside your comfort zone. Sometimes, it’s a writing assignment where you can brainstorm. Sometimes, it’s simply noticing how your body feels in specific moments.
Homework is completely optional, but you will get more out of therapy by participating.

IT’S IMPORTANT TO ME THAT YOU BENEFIT FROM THERAPY… NO MATTER WHAT.
So, if you’re not finding it helpful…
Or if you’re not emotionally ready to engage in the therapeutic process…
Or if you just need a break…
That’s okay. Sometimes we need to take a break.
It’ll never hurt my feelings if you want to take a break from or even stop attending therapy. Of course, if you want to reach out at a future date, I’ll be more than willing to continue working with you.
And as we’re working together, please tell me if you feel something we’re doing isn’t helping. I have many tricks up my sleeve, but I might not know things aren’t working unless you say something. I’m not a mind reader (as much as I’d love to be), but I am always open to feedback.
